WordPress Designer & Developer

Description:

We are seeking a skilled WordPress Designer & Developer to create and maintain exceptional WordPress websites. This role involves designing user-friendly interfaces, developing backend functionalities, customizing themes, and implementing plugins. You will work closely with clients and team members to bring their vision to life, ensuring high performance and security. A solid understanding of WordPress best practices and proficiency in both design and development are essential for success in this position.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a WordPress Designer & Developer, you will play a pivotal role in creating visually appealing and high-performing websites for our clients. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborate with our team to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Develop and customize WordPress themes, templates, and plugins to meet specific website needs.
  • Implement website updates, enhancements, and modifications using WordPress’ best practices.
  • Ensure the websites are visually appealing, user-friendly, and optimized for performance.
  • Conduct thorough testing to identify and resolve any technical issues or bugs. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with WordPress websites.
  • Test websites for cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility. Ensure that websites are responsive, mobile friendly, and perform well across different devices and platforms. 
  • Optimize website performance, including page load speed, responsiveness, overall user experience, scalable sites for all platforms.
  • Collaborate with other team members, such as content creators and marketers, to align design and functionality with overall business goals.
  • Maintain website security and perform regular backups.
  • Attend team meetings and contribute to discussions on project requirements, development strategies, and best practices.
  • Experience with Google’s suite of tools, Tag Manager, Search Console, Page Speed Insights, Maps APIs, etc.
  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends, best practices, and technologies related to WordPress and web development.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3-5 years of Frontend & Backend WordPress developer with experience of WordPress core, theme, custom plugin development in PHP and SQL.
  • Strong experience with front-end web builders, particularly Elementor, Fusion Builder, and any other popular page builders.
  • Prior portfolio showcasing WordPress design and development projects.
  • Strong understanding of WordPress architecture and best practices.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript. 
  • Familiarity with relational databases, preferably MYSQL.
  • Integrate third-party services and APIs. Implement and/or extend plugins, modules, libraries, and APIs to customize display and functionality.
  • Proficient in implementing SEO best practices for WordPress websites, and adept at applying optimal SEO strategies to enhance website performance, pages, posts, and locations, among other elements.
  • Basic knowledge of version control using Git (branching, merging, and resolving merge conflicts) or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of website optimization techniques such as caching, lazy loading, and asset optimization.
  • Experience working in a team environment and collaborating with other developers, designers, and project managers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work quickly when needed, be flexible to changes, and able to strike a strong balance between perfectionism and value for the client.
  • Awareness of complementary disciplines including marketing/business strategy, human interaction, SEO principles, accessibility, content strategy, and user experience.

Bonus Qualifications & Skills:

  • Build integrations with GrubHub, UberEats, OpenTable, Taxi Reservations, Hotel Reservations, HubSpot, Salesforce, Pardot, etc
  • Develop custom themes and plugins to extend the functionality of WordPress.
  • Learn new CMS, application, and eCommerce platforms as needed.
  • Experience with frameworks such as Twig and Timber.
  • Experience with CSS preprocessors such as SASS or LESS.
  • Familiarity with server administration and hosting environments.
  • Experience with React JS and Vue JS framework.

  • Full-time position: 50 – 60 hours per week.

Days Off Policy:

Benefits are entitled to a “Full Time” staff member. Sick leave cannot be carried over into the next year or paid at termination. Staff is required to provide a medical certificate if the leave exceeds 2 or 3 days. “Vacation Time Off” starts after 1 year of employment.

Position: WordPress Designer & Developer

Salary: ₹ 25K Base + ₹ 5K [Performance Based Raise after 3 months]

Three Months Internship (Mandatory): 

  • This mandatory 3-month internship will be at 50% of the regular pay, with payment provided upon completion. During the internship, you’ll be responsible for key tasks while gaining hands-on experience. After the 3 months, if your performance is exceptional, sufficient time has been dedicated to your assigned project, and the team recognizes your contributions, you will be strongly considered for a full-time position in the same role.
